Thailand is another country that creates various community products and services, but the problem is entrepreneurs cannot directly introduce their products and services to potential customers. As a result, Channel Management System (CMS) has been developed by Digital Economy Promotion Agency to be the center that links all markets all over the country and enable OTOP and community enterprises to sell their products via online system and expand the market more effectively.
Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanpatcharin, Director of Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), said DEPA aims to promote new generation SMEs following Thailand 4.0 strategy and respond to the government’s digital economy policy. Entrepreneur Total Digital Services Project is aimed at helping community enterprises and OTOP entrepreneurs to access and apply digital technology to improve their business potential with the systems and applications developed by DEPA. This will encourage entrepreneurs to apply digital technology more effectively.
This pilot project has been initiated in 10 provinces including Chiang Mai, Lampang, Nan, Sakon Nakhon, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Phuket, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Surat Thani. There is a total of 400 Digital Man Power who will provide training programs for 4,000 entrepreneurs in 10 pilot provinces, 400 entrepreneurs each province. These 400 volunteers provide knowledge for people in their community to encourage local learning groups, digital community and sustainable development.
The training program starts from an introduction to internet and social media application as well as technology application for business potential enhancement via platform and application. Channel Management System (CMS) is a central system for e-market connection which helps entrepreneurs to sell their products on E-Market Place, making online businesses more convenient and easier. Now TARAD.com and AIS Farm Suk are two E-Market Place providers connected to CMS.
In addition, DEPA has developed THAILAND I Love U, a tourism application which presents tourist attractions and major routes in each province as well as information on products and services with more than 50,000 pinned locations on digital maps of 10 pilot provinces. These locations include restaurants, shops, natural tourist attractions and landmarks. THAILAND I Love U app will help promote and expand markets locally and internationally for Thai entrepreneurs.
THAILAND I Love U will link information on products and services to a trading system with a tool called Storytelling, a strategy that adds value to products. It creates Template Website which is linked to THAILAND I Love U and enables entrepreneurs to describe their products and services to attract more tourists.
It is the responsibility of Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDE) and its associated agency, Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), to encourage entrepreneurs to apply technology to improve their business operations for sustainable growth. Among the developed projects, DEPA believes that CMS will be a large network that enables sellers to meet their potential buyers more easily.
