Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanpatcharin, Director of Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), said that after being appointed as DEPA Director by Mr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Digital Economy and Society (DE), he is working on reorganizing the agency’s structure and formulating the country’s development plan as well as human resource management which are expected to complete by July. In addition, DEPA has been given a mission which is a key mechanism to drive the digital economy following DE’s policy.
The formulation of DEPA’s structure is currently completed. The agency consists of five divisions:
1. Special Project Division which has the duty to implement required projects according to the government’s policy to drive the country to Thailand 4.0 such as Digital Park Project, Smart City Project in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) by emphasizing cooperation and potential enhancement;
2. Support and Promotion Division for community development, digital human resources development and quality of life and stability development;
3. Digital Economy Division which emphasizes modern agricultural development, industry and business development and digital industry development;
4. Strategy and Management Division; and 5. Regional Service Support and Promotion which oversees DEPA branches upcountry.
Duties and responsibilities of each division correspond to the agency’s roles and duties in promoting and supporting digital industry development and digital application in various aspects such as economy, society, culture and security.
