Digital Economy Promotion Agency teams up with Chiang Mai University and Autodesk to establish “Smart City Design Center”

CMU and Autodesk jointly set up " Smart City Design Center"
“Smart City Design Center” is established under collaboration of College of Arts, Media and Technology, Chiang Mai University, Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) and Autodesk Co., Ltd., the leader in 3D design technology. Autodesk provides software for Chiang Mai University to encourage its instruction and develop human resources in Chiang Mai Province. Autodesk also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Chiang Mai University to introduce its modern technology and software to local people and promote Chiang Mai to Smart City in the future.
College of Arts, Media and Technology, Chiang Mai University now provides learning programs that are emphasized on information technology and digital to develop its personnel and students and drive core industries in the province with digital technology. In addition, Chiang Mai needs to develop the following aspects:

  • Smart Tourism : Tourism development based on technology such as Virtual Guide (virtual situation simulation technology).
  • Smart Museum : Conservation of ancient monuments and antiques for study and teaching in a creative way.
  • Smart Handicraft : Handicraft industry development in Chiang Mai with 3D design technology.
  • Training Center for Smart City : Training programs for entrepreneurs from all industrial clusters who are interested to apply technology to upgrade their products and services and enhance international competitiveness. EEC Youth Planner and Developer Contest will be held under collaboration with Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) soon.

In 2018, College of Arts, Media and Technology (CAMT) will pilot the establishment of Smart Campus through application of technology to create a comfortable, modern building with effective and sustainable use of resources.
